Despite The Great Gatsby [DVD] being released in 1974, I'd never seen it until 2012 when it came out priced really low on Amazon. On watching, I found that I disliked the Gatsby character quite intensely, thinking him very self centred (not dissimilar to Redford's role in 'Out of Africa') but I also discovered that the film had been going for over an hour and I was still watching!
